BOSTON — Massachusetts Democratic Party Chairman Gus Bickford proved to voters once again the complete hypocrisy of his own party in a press release issued Tuesday morning.

“Given the history of how the Massachusetts Democratic Party operates, this represents a stunning yet predictable lack of self-awareness,” Massachusetts Republican Party Chairman Jim Lyons said. 

Lyons pointed to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s laundry list of party corruption, which includes backroom budget deals purposely made away from the public eye, probation department patronage scandals, and pattern of indicted House speakers, to name only a few.   

“The same party that orchestrated an act of the Legislature not once, but twice, to hand-pick a successor to the U.S. Senate, is now feigning moral outrage,” Lyons said. “The fact that they would in any way suggest that Gov. Baker acted inappropriately is ridiculous.”

“Democratic Party power brokers are obsessed with control, and whenever that control comes into question, we see tantrums and meltdowns like what we witnessed out of him (Bickford).”
