Elizabeth Warren Tries to Play Both Sides: Cancels Appearance but Refuses to Condemn Antisemitic Group

September 16, 2024

BOSTON, MA– In May, Elizabeth Warren abruptly canceled a planned appearance at a conference organized by anti-Israel organization, 7Amleh, who praised Hamas’ Oct. 7th attack that killed 1,400 and left hundreds taken hostage.

Jewish Insider uncovered how the conference’s host organization 7amleh counts Nevin Abu Rahmoun in its leadership. Following Hamas’ attack, Rahmoun warned Jewish individuals everywhere “the message of the resistance is clear, it has started and it shall escalate and shall impose a new reality.”

The organization’s project coordinator, Mohammad Badarneh, wrote in a now-deleted online post that “the only important value of a human being living under occupation is the extent of his resistance to that occupation, in all possible means.”

Before the 2023 attack, 7amleh’s monitoring and documentation officer, Ahmad Qadi, celebrated attacks on Jewish synagogues around the globe, writing online, “every Israeli crime is met with greater determination for sacrifice, broader resistance and…victory.”

Despite members of the organization’s clear antisemitic statements, a Warren spokesperson said her decision to forgo an appearance had nothing to do with 7Amleh and said “we do not assume any of the claims are true.”

MassGOP Chair Amy Carnevale commented on Warren’s preference towards political opportunism and allegiance to bad actors stating, “What is most disturbing is that, while she avoided attending the event with 7amleh, she ensured her standing with this group by refusing to condemn past antisemitic remarks from its members and effectively giving them a pass.”

“Elizabeth Warren has openly accused Israel of committing ‘genocide’ in its efforts to eliminate the terrorists behind the deadliest attack in its history. As antisemitism grows in Massachusetts, now is not the time for equivocation. Warren must be held accountable for the antisemitic movement she has helped fuel,” Carnevale concluded.
