Jury Finds President Trump Guilty on Felony Counts; MassGOP Chair Condemns Verdict as ‘Political Prosecution’

Boston, MA– Today, a Manhattan jury returned a verdict in the case involving President Trump and the alleged hush money payments. Donald Trump has been found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

MassGOP Chair Amy Carnevale released the following statement after the verdict was reached: “I am disheartened by the outcome of this political prosecution. Today marks a profoundly troubling moment for the integrity of the American judicial system. The Federal Election Commission and the Department of Justice both investigated these allegations and chose not to bring charges against President Trump. It should have ended there. This case should have never been pursued by the Manhattan District Attorney driven by political ambition. We expect this verdict to be reversed on appeal and Joe Biden defeated in November.”
