WOBURN — Count Massachusetts Republican Party Chairman Jim Lyons among those moved by President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, and ready to capitalize on the positive momentum.
“If you, like me, came away inspired by last night’s celebration of the Great American Comeback, don’t let this moment pass you by,” Lyons said Wednesday. “We are looking for people who will stand with our president, who will embrace American greatness, and who are not afraid to stand up and challenge the Democratic machine on Beacon Hill.
“Now is the time for Republicans of all stripes to run for office and challenge every single one of these entrenched State House Democrats.”
The numbers from a recent Gallup poll tell the story:
- 63% of America approves of President Trump’s handling of the economy, the highest for any president in almost 20 years.
- 51% of Americans view the Republican Party favorably, up from 43% from September.
- Nearly 6 in 10 Americans say they are better off financially than they were a year ago, up from 50% last year.
- 74% say they will be better off financially in a year, the highest since 1977.
“The Great American Comeback is roaring across the nation, and yet here in Massachusetts we have Democrats bent on obstructing her successes, even refusing to applaud the good news,” Lyons said. “If you believe in this president, whose actions have made it clear he’s working for you, there’s never been a better time to get out there and run.”
