Republican Chairwoman Carnevale Urges Senate President Spilka to Set Special Election Date: “It is unfair that voters in 22 municipalities are being denied representation”

Today, Massachusetts Republican State Chairwoman Amy Carnevale released the following statement urging Senate President Karen Spilka to set a date for the special election for the open seat in Worcester & Hampshire District:

“It has been over two weeks since Senator Anne Gobi announced her resignation, yet the President Spilka continues to drag her feet on setting an election date. As the Senate considers votes on critical issues such as housing, taxes and education, it is unfair that voters in 22 municipalities are being denied representation. With families and businesses still struggling from inflation and a tumultuous economy, people deserve to have their voices heard on Beacon Hill and I urge the Senate President to stop playing politics and promptly set an election date.”
