Healey Continues to Ignore Parole Board Controversies,
Focuses on Photo Ops
After Healey’s Parole Board Releases a Child Murderer,
She Remains Silent on Public Safety
Boston, MA – Governor Maura Healey has remained silent on her Parole Board’s release of violent criminals and child murderers, while making time for photo ops at bars and restaurants.
“She should focus more on the safety of the Commonwealth and victims than her Instagram account,” said a frustrated Amy Carnevale, Chairwoman of the Massachusetts Republican Party.
Carnevale continued, “Parents everywhere are outraged over the Parole Board’s latest decision to let a child murderer walk free.”
She was referencing a Boston Herald report on the Massachusetts Parole Board’s decision to free Richard Mayes. In 1983, when he was 36, Mayes killed his 2-year-old son, Lawrence “Onaje” Jackson Ritchon.
This latest release follows dozens of other questionable parole decisions by a board composed almost entirely of Healey appointees.
