Massachusetts Incumbent Democrats Won’t Debate

Over 11,000 Job Losses July/August

and 380 Layoffs in September:

Healey Has No Comment

BOSTON. Massachusetts is shedding jobs. Governor Maura Healey has not produced a serious response.

“Employers, job seekers and residents are not waiting for a turnaround, said Massachusetts Republican Party Chairwoman Amy Carnevale. She continued, ” They are leaving for lower-tax states, including New Hampshire and Florida.”

“Governor Healey keeps blaming Washington, but the rest of the country is growing jobs, not losing them. This is why Massachusetts needs Mike Minogue.” she concluded.

The Facts:

Private-sector employment in the state is still about 35,000 jobs below January 2020. About 180,000 residents have left Massachusetts since 2020, and those jobs have not come back. The state’s private hiring has been described as anemic, and its competitive edge as lost. Hundreds more layoff announcements followed from Massachusetts businesses.

Maura Healey has not explained how she intends to close it.

So far in September, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) layoff and closure updates already show 380 jobs lost this month.

Thermo Fisher, the largest publicly traded company based in the state, has cut hundreds of positions over the past year. Cities and towns have also laid off workers in a hard budget year. The life-sciences sector as a whole lost more than 3,600 jobs in 2025 under Governor Healey.

Massachusetts workers are left with the facts as they stand: fewer private payrolls than in 2020, a shrinking life-sciences base, municipal pink slips, and an open invitation from neighboring states.
