After 53 Years, Ed Markey Still Has No Answers
BOSTON — Tonight’s debate confirmed what Massachusetts voters already know: Ed Markey has been in elected office since 1973, and after more than five decades the results still aren’t there.
Massachusetts has some of the highest electricity rates in the continental United States. Families are being priced out of housing and leaving the state. And while residents here struggle with crushing energy bills driven by green mandates, Senator Markey’s Maryland home pays far less.
He avoids debates. He avoids accountability. And after 53 years, he still can’t point to results that have made life more affordable for the people of Massachusetts.
In his last debate against Seth Moulton, Markey’s instinct was to pivot to Trump instead of answering for Massachusetts. And when it comes to the issues that actually matter to families, including technology and the future of work. he has been caught stumbling and unprepared.
“Ed Markey has had half a century. Massachusetts families are still waiting for results,” said MassGOP Chairwoman Amy Carnevale. “John Deaton is offering real accountability and practical solutions. That’s the choice in this race.”
Voters deserve better than a career politician who has failed to deliver after 53 years. It’s time for change.
