Massachusetts Incumbent Democrats Won’t Debate

No Debates Scheduled for September and None Before Mail Ballots Go Out

 

Massachusetts – Mail-in ballots start going out September 29th. Before voters mark them, they should hear both sides. But as of today, the voters and press wont be seeing any debates before then.

Across the ticket, Democrats are afraid to debate:

• Governor Maura Healey is afraid to debate Mike Minogue in Western Massachusetts because she does not want to answer for a questionable $2 billion courthouse contract given to Boston Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley’s husband, or for hiring a cocaine trafficker as her Western Massachusetts representative,
• U.S. Senator Ed Markey is afraid to debate John Deaton because the 50-year incumbent is afraid of a candidate with a political independent streak, with zero ties to Washington,
• State Treasurer Deb Goldberg is afraid to debate Elizabeth Dionne because she has not debated any opponent in eight years and is still refusing to now, afraid of facing recent scandals with employees,
• Attorney General Andrea Campbell is afraid to debate Michael Walsh because of her questionable actions killing a ballot initiative that got her criticism in the Wall Street Journal. Campbell refused a debate offer on Boston Public Radio with Margery Eagan and Jim Braude last month.

“The Democrats who chanted ‘No Kings’ seem to love to act like monarchs, because Kings never debate,” said Amy Carnevale, Chairwoman of the Massachusetts Republican Party.

She continued, “Democrats refusing to face the voters, the press and their political opponents is what happens when ‘One Party Rule’ gets out of control.”

Early voting has allowed for voters to be left in the dark by incumbent Democrats who refuse to debate before citizens receive ballots.
