BOSTON, MA – Massachusetts Republican Party Chairwoman Amy Carnevale issued the following statement after former Democratic State Treasurer Shannon O’Brien filed a new lawsuit against Treasurer Deb Goldberg alleging civil rights violations, whistleblower retaliation, threats, intimidation, coercion, and misuse of confidential information:

 

“Deb Goldberg created this Cannabis Control Commission disaster by hand-picking Shannon O’Brien and then unlawfully firing her for raising questions.

 

Now her own appointee is suing her personally for retaliation and civil-rights violations.

Goldberg should be personally held accountable for her actions.

 

Massachusetts deserves a professional like Elizabeth Dionne, she will restore trust to the Treasurer’s office. ”
