Five Questions Maura Healey Needs to Answer

Boston, MA — In an election year, Governor Maura Healey cannot continue to duck reporters or hide behind friendly media outlets. Massachusetts voters deserve straight answers on public safety, taxes, and fiscal priorities.

 

Here are five questions Governor Healey must address this week:

 

Q1. The Auditor said she has not spoken to Governor Healey in a year and a half on “On the Record” on WCVB on Sunday. Where does Healey stand on the Audit? Did she support the Speaker’s efforts to gut the Audit last week?

 

Q2. Governor Healey said on Boston Public Radio she will support Nazi tattoo enthusiast Graham Platner. Does Governor Healey plan to endorse Graham Platner in Maine or Massachusetts? Will she hold a fundraiser for him? Will she campaign for him?

 

Q3. Will Governor Healey finally address the SNAP Fraud? Or any other fraud: MassDOT, Medicare etc?

 

Q4. Local cities and towns are facing major layoffs and cuts to fire and police. Why is Unrestricted Local Aid (UGGA) the lowest it has been in twenty years (as percentage of the state budget) under the Healey Administration?

 

Q5. Why has the Massachusetts State Budget grown about $10 Billion under Governor Healey’s watch, but local aid stayed stagnant?

 

Massachusetts residents deserve real answers on these critical issues affecting families, businesses, and public safety across the Commonwealth.
